Ever since Microsoft debuted the Windows Store in Windows 8, users have feared that Redmond would force them to acquire their apps solely from the store. That hasn’t come to pass, yet; despite Microsoft’s best efforts, a majority of users are still primarily using third-party software installed from the internet.
